Buy Tickets to Winter Intention 2026

Violation of this code of conduct will result in corrective action from the event organizing team up to and including immediate removal from Winter Intention (the “Event”). Criminal acts will be reported to the police.

By purchasing your ticket and attending the event you agree to the following:

Do the admin

1. Government issued photo identification must be presented at the gate for entry. 
2. All tickets are non-refundable and are transferable only in cooperation with the Registration Team.
3. All participants must complete the registration form after ticket purchase.
4. All participants must read and acknowledge these Conditions of Entry and the Release of Liability to attend the Event.

Nurture community

1. All participants must volunteer for at least four hours during the Event unless excused.
2. Respect boundaries. Physical, sexual, or verbal assault will not be tolerated. See the posted Consent Guidelines for further details. 
3. Ask permission before photographing or video recording another attendee. Ask permission again before publishing in any way. There are many reasons why people might not want to be photographed, from professional discretion to experience of stalking to a preference for privacy.
4. Please co-operate and turn down sound when requested by the organizing team or volunteers. Late-night noise can be a source of conflict with our venues and their neighbours. 

Keep children safe

1. Parents or guardians must supervise children aged 12 and under at all times by keeping the child in sight.  If a child under 7 is swimming the parent must be arms length away. 
2. Parents or guardians must monitor teenagers aged 13 to 17 years old at all times by knowing where their child is and what they are doing.

Respect the venue

1. We are collectively responsible for Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre facilities and equipment. Participants will be responsible for any damages caused by themselves or their dependents.
2. Leave no trace: Place all garbage and recyclables in designated containers. 
3. Use the designated restroom facilities only. The forest and lake are NOT available for bathroom use.
4. According to our contract with the venue:
1. Illegal activities, drug abuse or inhumane treatment of animals will not be tolerated on the Research Forest. 
2. Nudity or sexually explicit behavior in open areas and common areas will not be tolerated. This encompasses all areas of Loon Lake except for bedrooms. 
3. No dogs, bikes, fishing, or camping are allowed anywhere in the Research Forest. 
4. Bear, cougar, and other wildlife frequent the forest. Be aware that they can pose a danger to you. Do not attempt to feed or touch any wildlife at any time. 
5. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.
6. Open fires are permitted only in the Loon Lake fire pit.
7. NO NUTS of any kind are permitted in Bentley Dining Hall.

BY ACKNOWLEDGING THIS DOCUMENT YOU WILL WAIVE CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE OR CLAIM COMPENSATION FOLLOWING INJURY OR DEATH AT WINTER INTENTION 2026 from December 30th 2026 to January 2nd 2027 (the “Event”).

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

This Release Agreement releases the Intention Gathering Society, the Winter Intention 2026 organizing team, all volunteers and contractors involved with this event, and all participants and attendees (collectively the “Releasees”) from liability arising from my participation in the Event.

I am aware that participating in the Event as a participant, volunteer, organizer or any other person is a potentially hazardous activity that involves many risks, dangers and hazards including, but not limited to: lack of medical assistance, no police or other security protection at or around the Event, hazardous terrain, sufficient water to drown, pyrotechnics, fires, planned and/or unplanned and unsupervised fire performances, objects high enough to lead to lethal falls; structures or artworks on the grounds may be in an unsafe condition; there will be insufficient lighting at night; and NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES, INCLUDING FAILURE ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES TO TAKE REASONABLE STEPS TO SAFEGUARD OR PROTECT ME FROM THE RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS OF PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT. I FREELY ACCEPT AND FULLY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF INJURY, DEATH AND LOSS RESULTING THEREFROM.

In consideration of the RELEASEES agreeing to my participating in the Event and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is acknowledged, I hereby, for myself and my children, agree as follows:

TO WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS that I have or may in the future have against the RELEASEES and to RELEASE the RELEASEES from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense, or injury, including death, that I may suffer or that my next of kin may suffer, as a result of my participation in the Event, DUE TO ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, BREACH OF CONTRACT, OR BREACH OF ANY STATUTORY OBLIGATION OR OTHER DUTY OF CARE, INCLUDING ANY DUTY OF CARE OWED UNDER THE OCCUPIERS LIABILITY ACT ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES, AND FURTHER INCLUDING THE FAILURE ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES TO TAKE REASONABLE STEPS TO SAFEGUARD OR PROTECT ME FROM THE RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS OF PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT.

I FURTHER AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE RELEASEES FROM ANY LOSS ARISING FROM ANY INJURY OR DAMAGE I EITHER CAUSE OR SUFFER AS A RESULT OF MY PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT.

In entering into this Release Agreement, I am not relying on any oral or written representations or statements made by the Releasees with respect to the safety of participating in the Event, other than what is set forth in this Release Agreement.

I understand that if I do not want to give up these legal rights I will not attend the event.
